| Detailed Description | Web filtering improves resource utilization and reduces administrative efforts and costs associated with security breaches. Juniper Networks integrated Web filtering enables customers to set up Web filtering profiles and policies, including category requests/local cache, on the security devices. When end-users attempt Web access, the Juniper Networks device sends requests to SurfControl partner hosted facilities for categorization only. All other policy decisions are made directly on the Juniper Networks appliance. Users gain access to permitted Web sites based on a decision (permit or deny) made on Juniper Networks devices assigned to specific FW polices. This differs from the redirect solution, where the Juniper Networks device sends the Web access traffic to the SurfControl device for the look up and policy decision. Web filtering can minimize proprietary data leakage and the liability associated with downloading copyrighted material. This technology can also be used to prevent users from accessing inappropriate, non-business Web sites, increasing overall corporate productivity and minimizing the liability associated with misuse of company resources. |
