| Detailed Description | Microsoft Excel X for Mac is a powerful spreadsheet program for evaluating, calculating, and analyzing data, as well as creating charts and reports. Excel X offers a number of advanced features that make it even easier to personalize and use. Each of the Office v. X programs features a bold new Aqua user interface that's completely in step with Mac OS X. The result is a suite of the purest Mac programs yet - and, because each program looks, feels, and behaves the way a Mac OS X program should, the features in Office v. X are even easier to find. Through the power of Quartz 2-D Drawing Technology, you have the ability to create stunning transparent charts. From 3-D graphs to pie charts, Excel X takes charts to a new level never seen in standard spreadsheet programs. What's more, Quartz makes the border and lines in spreadsheet graphics such as pie charts clean and smooth thanks to Anti-Aliasing. Now, jagged lines are a thing of the past. Now turned on by default, the AutoRecover feature saves your workbook for you automatically at the interval you specify. Excel recovers unsaved changes to documents if the program stops responding or there is a power failure. For example, if you set AutoRecover to save every five minutes, you don't lose more than five minutes of work. AutoRecover settings are set in Preferences. Set the keyboard shortcuts to function as they did in Excel 98, or customize each one to your personal preferences. You can assign keyboard shortcuts to commands that do not already have them or remove customized keyboard shortcuts you don't want. If you don't like the changes you make, you can return to the default keyboard shortcut settings at any time. Search, analyze, and sort your data faster and more effectively with the List Manager, which automatically offers to convert cells into a manageable, sortable list.
